The small Giant is the world's first pre-curated Art & Rug pairing concept. Think of it as speed dating for your walls and floors. We match original artwork with hand-knotted rugs by colour, theme, and collection — eliminating the endless back-and-forth between vendors and delivering a cohesive design statement in one seamless experience.
Shalini Kahlon, an interior designer and art curator with over two decades of experience across two continents, saw the gap firsthand: clients (and designers) spending weeks sourcing artwork and rugs separately, only to discover they didn't harmonize. Her son Aval, co-founder and the "small" in The small Giant, brings fresh perspective and digital fluency. Together, mother and son have built a powerful platform that is as personal as it is revolutionary.
Bespoke rugs in striking and unimaginable colours, hand-knotted, made in options of wool and upcycled silk — a centuries-old craft. Each artwork is an original, selected from our network of galleries and independent artists from the Global South Asian region as well as First Nation and North American artists.
Our platform delivers an upsell, higher-value experience for artists, art and rug galleries, and interior retail businesses. We're an aggregator — collaborating with galleries, luxury home stagers, interior designers, and direct clients to source and pair pieces.

All our rugs need to be preordered and are made to your size request. A video of the rug in making stage is shared and colour tones can be further customized at this stage using our washing technique. Rug size decides the price and lead times.

All artwork and rugs are professionally packaged and shipped with care. White-glove delivery and installation services are available for select locations. International shipping is available — contact us for a custom quote.
Standard pairings ship within 10–15 business days. Custom orders (including custom rug sizing) may take 6–12 weeks depending on the specifications. We'll keep you informed every step of the way.
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and offer secure online checkout. For high-value orders, we can arrange payment plans or wire transfers — reach out to discuss.
Due to the bespoke nature of our pairings, returns are handled on a case-by-case basis. If your order arrives damaged or is not as described, contact us within 7 days with photos and we'll make it right.
We recommend regular vacuuming (without a beater bar), rotating the rug every 6 months for even wear, and professional cleaning as needed. Avoid direct prolonged sunlight. We include a care guide with every purchase.
